: 12.50's or 14.50s
AggieLR 02-07-2002, 05:21 PM i need some advice on tires and rims, we're gonna be puttin a 4" lift on an 81 k-5, runnin 35's, now my question is, since its a blazer, i can run wider tires and not have them stick out much, now if i run a 10" wide rim, should i put 12.50's or 14.50's, and its a daily driver, so 14.50 would have to be a swamper or equivalent, and let me see some pics of 12.5 and 14.5 on 10" rim please
4x4extreme 02-07-2002, 05:22 PM 14.50 or bigger
AggieLR 02-07-2002, 06:05 PM come awn, all of ya'll on here and no more opinions or pics than
KS Toy 02-07-2002, 06:42 PM both sound big for a Chevy:flipoff2: Really though 14.50

AggieLR 02-07-2002, 06:52 PM well with the few responses i've gotten, what 14.50's would u recommend for a daily driver, that wheels only about 4-5 times a year, and its a girls rig, i would post pics, but i can't
road1will 02-07-2002, 06:55 PM daily driver... wheels 4 or five times per YEAR
girls rig...
i say 35x12.5 BFG ATS or similar, yeah shitty tire but hell for a big ass K5 in texas that only goes off pavement 5 times every 12 months, they should work fine. or get the MTs. they will wear a hell of a lot better than any swamper will.
AggieLR 02-07-2002, 07:00 PM let me revise, the girls rig wasn't deragatory, its just my girlfriend, and she won't be wheeling it a lot, just want it to look decent and make most of the frat fags in this college town jelous that a girl is drivin a better built rig that she built rather than thier rich daddy bought trucks
NE-RokToy 02-07-2002, 08:07 PM how much you want to spend?
NE-RokToy 02-07-2002, 08:08 PM how much you want to spend? 36x12.50 TSL radial would be bad ass, and if you can fit 35's you could fit the 36's easily

Get some thornbirds then if its just for looks & it won't be wheeled much, seriously you'll have the cool look & they'll last a while, just be careful when she tries to stop.:flipoff2:
tulsa_jeeper 02-07-2002, 09:12 PM go with 14.50's.
Rubicrawler 02-07-2002, 09:41 PM Here's a pic of 36x12.5x15 TSL SX's on 9" Champions mtd on my EB:)
Rubicrawler 02-07-2002, 09:43 PM One more:)
AggieLR 02-07-2002, 11:31 PM thanks for ya'lls help, i think we may be goin with the new bfg m/t's, 35x12.5 on a 10" rim, they'll get decent milage and wear ok, and probably balance better than a swamper, 4" of lift and your favorite, CUTTIN the fenders, i might have to set up a web page so ya'll can come look at it, oh, by the way, we need FI for it, so if anyone has FI set up for a sbc email me or post here
tulsa_jeeper 02-12-2002, 12:39 PM Oh...I see, ask for everyone's advise and then go against what everyone suggested. Why even ask...sounds like you already had your mind made up.
Doug K 02-12-2002, 12:44 PM Why do you think he ended up with a CJ-5?
:D :D

Looks like he asked for advice and got a few responses saying "Go with a BFG if she only wheels it 4-5 times a year and needs to pound the pavement"
Smart move, too. If you're gonna burn a tire up, make it a cheap one.
Heck, how about some Grabber MTs - cheaper yet. I would've said ProComp, but I hear they've jacked their prices recently..
Oh yeah... :flipoff2: newbie! :flipoff2:
