Anyone know of offset D44's or any others with six lug flanges to match a Toy or Samurai?

Thanks!

72 ( I think) to 79 wagoneer, cherokee, and J10s ONLY with Th400 and Quadratrac the ones with Th400 and dana 20 werent offset as MUCH as the Qtrac trucks.

How much are each of those offset? To fit a Sammy perfectly it would need to be about 5".

Ive never measurerd the offset, my buddy measued several last year when we were shopping thru the yard, Ill ask him if you wish.

but all of the above listed axles are gonna be wide as hell on a sami!

Gozuki has Wagoneer Dana44's under his Sammy, and it's bitchin'!

An FJ-40 Land Cruiser rear would also work, those are 55" wide (same length as a '79-'85 pickup) with the offset diff. Good to have lots of options though, keep 'em coming.

Ill have to go measure mine for sure, But I htink wag rears are more like 58-59 inches hub-hub.

still way wide for a sami!

whats the plans in the front of the sami?

That's okay, don't bother. Just feeling out the options.

A Samurai guy I know was talking about cutting 3" off an IFS Toy rear axle on the passenger side and cutting and resplining the shaft.

Seems like a lot of work and money for an imperfect solution, especially when there are existing axles out there that would bolt right in without modifications. I don't trust machine cut resplining behind a gear reduction box either, the factory rolled splines are so much stronger.

a model20 on a late '70s Waggy is a match too. 6 lug, Diff offset to Passenger side.

Narrow trac 73-79 Q-trac cherokee/wagoneer! Wide tracs also, but WIDE. (although not as wide as the 60/Chevy 44 in my shed!):D

No surprise there, as most of the wagg's with the offset stuff used the model 18 tcase as well.

Oh it's offset a bit ;)

Looks like this.

I'd say its 6 or so inches to the passenger side. Should work just fine in a sammy.. since I've seen em swapped in before.

Everyone talks about the Quadra Trac's being off set...which they are, but the 79' Cherokee that I have behind the barn was 360 with the T18 and a Dana 20 T case is off set also. It's a widetrac 44, and there 4 sale cheap....:smokin:

To use stock shafts (no resplining), what about a T100 driver's side shaft, and a pre-86 truck shaft...?

A T100 rear end is ~66", an early truck is 55", the difference would give you ~60.5" w/ 5.5" offset...?

A T100 housing uses the 8.25" diff though, so you probably wouldn't want to use that housing...? Or maybe you would...?

Just get a dana 44 out of the front of a early model ford and then put chevy outers on it. you then get a dana 44 with a pass side diff 6-lug AND Rear steer.

Wrong! They came with the Quadratrac. I've never seen a model 18 stock in a Wagoneer.

Slow down the Jay!
not compeltetly wrong, Ive seen a few with the th400+Dana20 ( not a common setup around here) and they are slightly offset, althogh NOT as much as the same truck with a Qtrack setup.

the Qtrack rear axles are cheap as hell, shjould be easy to to find.

Ive bought them from $50-$100 complete.

If we want to get picky, the one's with T18/model 20 are slightly offset also.

70's Wagoneers. The one's that also have the desirable front are 74-79 I think. Also FJ-40's have rear pass. offset axle and if I recall correctly they have a 5" offset.

Ok. I measured a couple axles here at home.
The first is with a T-18/model 20 combo, pinion is 4.75" off center.
the second is from a Quadratrash, pinion is 7.25" off center.

Hey, thanks guys. I'm leaning toward the FJ-40 axle, they're cheap and easy to work on.

jeepdude_jay is right... dana 18s were never used from the factory in full size jeeps. only dana 20s.

NT FSJ rears will be 57" WMS to WMS
WT FSJ rears will be 60" WMS to WMS

and if people would actually maintain their quadratrac units, they'd realize how damn good of a transfer case it actually is  (consider that jeep used the Qtrac on 3/4 ton pu's AND their competition offroad vehicles back in the day).
