: Voting 101 - How CA off-roaders should vote

To All Off-Roaders:

Because of a successful lawsuit by both the California Republican Party and Democrat Party, California no longer has an Open Primary in which all candidates are on one ballot, regardless of Party. On Election Day, registered Republicans will receive a ballot with ONLY Republican Candidates listed, and Democrats will receive a ballot with ONLY the Democrat candidates listed. The same applies for third party candidates, however, if you are registered as a decline-to-state, (no Party) you may ask for the ballot of your choice, or a ballot with only non-partisan races. A non-partisan ballot will NOT have any Candidates for the US Congress, State Senate or Assembly, or any of the State Constitutional offices.

Therefore, CLORV PAC has only concentrated on the HOT PRIMARY RACES for each Party where Off Road voters can make a significant difference and help elect pro Off-Road Legislators. To see which Incumbents CLORV PAC has endorsed in the past, please visit our website and look at the 2000 General Election Endorsements.

Please distribute this list as far and wide a possible prior to March 5th. However, we require that you credit the California League of Off Road Voters Political Action Committee (CLORV PAC) as the source.

If you would like a preformatted copy of the endorsements, please request Northern, Central or Southern Region and you will receive an email with a Word.doc attachment for easy reprints as well as insertion into your newsletters.

For more information about State Legislators and key legislation effecting Off Roaders and elections, please visit www.CLORV.org (http://www.CLORV.org).

Sincerely,

Pete Conaty
Executive Director, CLORV

Are you aware of California Proposition 40? It is on the California March 5 ballot.

It looks like a $4.3 billion (Cost in 25 years) state version of CARA. This proposition is in addition to the proposition 12 funding approved in the year 2000 election (some of you may remember Villaraigosa praising the benefits of this spending measure in Sierra Club sponsored advertisements).

The issue is slated to be on the California March 5 ballot.

http://www.lao.ca.gov/initiatives/2002/40_03_2002.htm

You can register to vote up to two weeks before the election.

Get out and tell your friends and recreation associates to register and vote against proposition 40.

Its unfortunate that props like 40 will get most people to vote for them because who wants "DIRTY WATER, AND AIR" like the ballot
reads. No one want that!!!!
All this ballat is going to do is give the ECO-NAZIS more laws they
can use against us to close our areas to multable use. It is to bad that the millions of city slickers that never even use the forest
fall for these misleading adds by the people "just trying to save the enviroment".

WHATEVER YOU DO, MAKE SURE YOU VOTE NO ON PROP 40!!!!!!
