Are there any good tire deals going on now or upcomming. I am looking to get two sets of tires. 39.5x15x16.5 tsls and a set of 36x12.5x15 tsls.

For tech,
I am planing on getting some 16.5x9.75 rims and welding in a safty bead. So far the plan is using some 9g. steel wire as the bead for the inner side. You guys have any other options? Will I have to put a safty bead on the outer side too?

Scoutaholic, did you do both and how is it working?

Yes you have to do both inside and outside beads. It works great but I will soon be buying Rockstomper beadlocks. Even then I'm welding a bead to the inside.
I'm ditching the 12" wide wheels for something in the 9" -10" range.
I don't recall if I mentioned that you may have problems with the tire store not wanting to mount the tires on the rims. Just stay away from the big chain stores and go to the local yocal guy and maybe bring some beer.:D

Its been awhile and I got my tires.

Well the only question I have is when welding the wire to the bead seat area do I place it up tight against were the bead would be?
Basicly, on the inner edge of the mark made by the bead of the tire? I've ran these tires for awhile so the placement of the bead shows on the rim.
I have a obvious idea of the answer I am just double checking.:D
thanks,
scott

Yes, the wire would be right up against the inside of the tire when it's on the rim.

Thanks

It's been at least a year have you gotten those rockstomper beadlocks?
If so, how do they compare to your previous setup?

I've been running the rockstompers for about a year now and they rock. I still have the welded in bead on the other side of the wheel. Main reason I went with the bead locks was for serviceability. I can take a tire off the rim on the trail and put it back on. Before mounting one of those pigs was a chor at the tire shop and not a chance on the trail.
I'm happy with my current setup.:)
