Need some help on my 91 warrior guys. Everything seems fine, but no spark. I have a new coil on it's way from eBay, so that is my first thing to try. Assuming that does not work (for some reason, I am fearing it will be the stator/pick-up), what should I look at next?

You would be money ahead by either buying a factory service manual so you can test each parts values or take it to a Yamaha shop and have them test for you. Its expensive just throwing parts at things.

I have no intention of throwing money at it, but $25 for a new coil was cheap enough to have on as a spare anyway. Besides, when it comes to the ignition there is a pretty short list of things that could be wrong.

I will check the neutral switch - thanks :)

There is a website just for yamaha quads . I think it is bluestreak . I found it surfing but never went back . Were you riding it when it quit or did it just fail to start ?

Hi, I'm new here but the Yamaha quad website he's talking about is www.bluetraxx.com. There's quite alot of good info there.

Back to your Warrior problem. Just a guess but I'd say it's probably the stator. I've had 2 Warrior and both had bad stators. My first one would pushstart for awhile but then it quit completely. The other wouldn't charge the battery. Warriors have a three phase stator, (charging, and 2 different parts if the ignition).

I've got a factory manual and can give you the specs for the different parts of the stator if you have a multimeter. Just let me know.

Kinda long for a first post!!

BTW, Seems to be a nice site, I think I'm gonna like it here.

another vote for stator. Talked to my buddy that works on these everyday. yammies ATVs are known for this. I almost bought 2 4 wheelers this week, both from a farmer, both had bo spark, same year & model, but I wanted to ask my buddy about them 1st, they were sold within hours:(
