I will be swapping in a NP 435 behind my 6 CYL and mating it to a 300. My question is...what is the best bell housing to use for this swap? The truck came with the ever-so-strong SR4.
Also, what is the best way to get a hydraulic cluth setup for this? And yeah, I searched.
I used a T150 bellhousing, but the T176/T4/T5 bellhousing also works.
And I'm 95% sure the SR bellhousing is the same as the T176, so you should be good to go.
You'll need a new pilot bushing though. Call an AA dealer. Should run you about $25 or so

You should be able to use your bellhousing, but you will have to drill and tap new holes.

Hey Zachv, I just swapped a NP435 behind my 4.0L I had to use a bellhousing from AA, But for the Hydraulic clutch setup I would give Jack at No Excuses 1-800-923-JEEP hes located in New Egypt, NJ. He will hook you up with whatever you need dude..

Thanks for the info, gents.
LOS--we have to get together some time if you know Jack. He is a personal friend of mine and we are in the same club. He is definitely the place to buy AA stuff from.
I used the stock '82, 4.2L bell housing (for a T4/T5) with the drilling of one more hole at a convinient boss already on the B.H. Works with any of the Ford crash boxes: NP435/T18/T19. For a 'no holes drilled' B.H. use the '76-79 Jeep T176 B.H. It's also called the multi hole B.H. as it fits almost all of the Jeep/Ford trannies.
regards. as always, jefe
