im contemplating building a longarm setup for a 91 xj.it doesnt seen all that difficult to fab up.my question is why keep the upper link mounts in the original location?if the upper link is used only to adjust the pinion angle cant i move them to the outsides more?it would be easier than trying to weld to the centersection and i might be able to make the upper and lower bracket out of one large pc of steel.
ive heard that welding the lower link in the center of the tube (my original plan)would be horrible on the road.
your opinions please

i believe the rockcrawler LAs only use one upper mount anyways and its tied into the lower arm ...... so not even any use for an upper mount on the frame and it uses the stock location on the axles

there is no reason they can't be inline (actually with a track bar should work better this way) and you can make them out of one big hunk of steel but tube should be plenty strong but also simplier and much lighter (go look under an ford f-150 or bronco, big ass cast radius arms)
