I searched, but didn't really find what I was looking for. What is the width of a CJ rear narrow-track? Also, what D44 is 53" wide? Thanks guys

Narrow rear is about 51 but I think you can get a 53" wide 44 out of a postal jeep.

You sure about that? I've got a Postal 44 siting under a pile of stuff, and I thought it was a couple inches narrower than my willys D41.

The bad part about the postal rears is the pinion is really centered which means the shafts are different lengths so you have to carry 2 spares.

No I am not sure about it at all. I have only looked at them in the junkyards and only expected them to be wider than an offset 44 but only guessing.

To answer your question, not sure if any are 53. A scout 800 runs about 55" wide though.

66CJDean you are correct - more correct than I anyway. I dug out the postal tonight out of curiosity, and it is 54" WMS to WMS.
