Flame my 99TJ pogo stick sprung jeep if you want but, Does anyone know who makes a spring compressor that will work for TJ springs? The ones that all the stores around here seem to have go inside the coil...It won't fit inside mine (RE 4.5 superflex). I need to put spring spacers in to overcome the weight of my front bumper and winch. Thanks

You don't need no stinkin spring compressors. Pull a bolt from you trackbar and upper links. Your axle will practically fall down.

I know how to get the axle to drop. My other problem is figuring out a way that is stable enough to do that since Jack stands won't reach the frame. Anyone got any recommendations on how to hold up the jeep safely?

got my spring compessor at auto zone, it goes on the out side, you can barrow them for free at autozone. Put the jack stands on big squares of wood (i've used 2'X2'X2" pieces stacked before.)and set them under the frame before the control arm brackets.

I used Pipe stands for doing piping at industrial plants. They hold about 2000 lbs each and cost about $80. You might be able to borrow some for a weekend if you know anybody that is at a plant or does work at them.

Get some 12 ton jackstands & just unbolt the dam axles, plenty of room.:flipoff2:

like the others said, get it high enough and pull a piece or two of the suspension and they fall right out.
if you don't have tall jackstands, borrow some ramps and stack them like this

in the length of time it takes to go rent a set at autozone, you can make a set.
a couple of long bolts and matching nuts, couple short pieces of scrap pipe or tube that fit together and some 1x3/16" strap.
