Would this be any good for keeping Sparkies from Grinders and welders at bay? I can get insane sizes for relatively decent prices at the surplus store.

I would think it depends on the distance from the work area.

I can't believe someone posted a thread on this! I'm giving this some serious consideration myself wondering if it would be a stupid idea. The old heavy canvas tarps seem like they would keep those stray sparks at bay provided they are (as pointed out above) reasonably far from the immediate work area. So has anybody tried this? Post up!

canavas are usually oil dipped or something for waterproofing... so im sure they arent fire safe...

i would get welding blanket.. they arent that cheap but works better and 100 percent safe..
