I was just wondering if anyone happended to have swapped a chevy cs version alternator in to a cj, (304). They are 120-140 amps and a lot cheaper than the high output versions commercially available. I had the part number for a 2.5l for my cherokee, but never made the swap before I upgraded rides. If anyone has the part number and manufacturer of the alternator that would help a lot. thanks in advance, I also checked the achrives and found nothing so any help would be appericated.

I converted mine to a CS-130. I don't remember what vehicle it came from though. BTW, note that the 130 does not mean 130 amps... 130 is the outside diameter of the stator in millimeters. The CS-121 is 61-74 amps and the CS-130 is 85-105 amps. I have the 105 amp version. I found this article (in addition to help on here) extremely useful:

The only install issues were making a second bushing to go behind the alt. on the main install bolt (there's already one there, but the flange thickness on the CS was less than what was on my stock alt. so I made a bushing to make up the difference. To be cleaner you could make a single bushing that's the overall length you need. Then I swapped the V pulley from the old alt. to the CS (the CS I picked up was a serp). Overall it's a cake swap. Sucker looks like it belongs there moreso than the crap stock alternator did and rather nice not having that external regulator cluttering up the joint. :flipoff2:
You can see a couple bad pics of mine here (you can make out the second smaller bushing in the second pic):
