My dana 300 makes this very fast "clacking" sound. I took the bottom cover off it and disconnected the driveshafts and ran the car. It looks like the bottom gear behind the front output shaft is not hitting the middle gear(gear between center output and front output) correctly. They do not line up exactly, they are about 1/16-1/8" off and there is a wear pattern. I took the shims out in the back plate and it is closer but it still clacks. The weird thing is, this just started happening outof nowhere after my last wheeling trip. I dont know how it would shift like it has, any suggestions?
