My weekend, found a Eaton rearend someone had installed under a 80's vintage sub by some darwin candidates. It was held in place with 1 ubolt on each side, no center bolts in the springs, and the pinion was facing backward. I wish I had taken a pic. The bolts were loose and I had it off in 5 minutes, I think it has a Detroit. Oh and I bought a new tarp for the Scout, looks my marathon build will hibernate a while longer

Saturday I cleaned up some destructed wiring and other things I had to fix after spending five hours "troubleshooting" why my brake lights wouldn't work, turns out the connection to the steering column wasn't plugged all the way in! :mad3: Painted my door hinges, installed new front grill and prepped a few things for Sunday...

Sunday, Dukguy came over and we put in the seats, put on the doors, hood and tailgate and took the Scout out for a quick test run. Hydroboost brakes gradually locked up about 1/2 from the house to the point where the Scout would barely move. Got that fixed and headed to the local burger joint where I oogled at pictures of Dukguy's newest addition, a red Unimog 404 hardtop :smokin:. Headed back to the parking lot to find a semi-serious valve cover leak and a broken "newish" shifter cable (Hurst sucks!). Got it home and sent it back to the garage until I can get the parts to fix it.

Didn't touch the Scout(s) at all, havn't in a few weeks.

Got to put the battery back in it and turn it over and check the coolent before it freezes and cracks the block or something :rolleyes:.

My workbench now has a collection of stuff piled around my D300 that STILL isn't done (only needs about 30hr work to button is back up.. then swap it into the truck... just haven't even come close and the race truck is out side with a tarp on it and no seats. Travelette is looking very sad (and dirty) over at the storage yard. It's carb is on the race truck :sad:


maybe this week I'll turn a wrench...... ya, right.......

Went paintballin' Saturday ~ cried about my achin' legs. Sunday we went to church and then cleaned the house (and I'm talkin ~ dig to the back of the closet cleaned the house). 7 full garbage bags of misc crap, 6 bags of clothes, 2 boxes of pots and pans, a couch, vacumn cleaner and a spare TV later and the house was lookin' sweet!

But now I'm beat!

Wide ratio 18 is in. Its super duper slow now. Finished the Disc brake conversion on my little 27 front end. Its sweet. Spring over is done. New driveshafts are in. All I need to do now is install the new M/C, bleed em and go wheeling. I got my 44 powerlok re-build kit. I'll install that next weekend. My 32x9.5x15 swampers should be on soon too. 6.32x2.43x4.27=65.57 is plenty slow for the 31's on it now :grinpimp: Hopefully I'll have pics before too long.

Sunday I went and watched my brother paly. He was wearing Santa suit he got from work. At one point he shot someone, then started jumping up and down yelling "Santa got you! Santa got you!" I left my gear at home, I never feel like playing in the cold.

Damian, I wanted to ask, did you rent field gear or do you own your own stuff? I have about 6-1/2 guns and lots of stuff. I'm trying to get back to building the Scout.

Finished up my OBA on the 800. I will no longer be forced to beg off my friends for re-fills! yay.

Worried the rest of the weekend that my hydro assist steering would not be ready for New Years Day.

DJ'd a bunch of gigs. Christmas parties, the club, and Costco are keeping me hoppin. Drove to Salt Lake ate at the Mayan, and got a single wheel 60 instead of a dually 60 because the yard owner is one heck of a nice guy. I also took my scout to the paint shop today. It should be done tomorrow. Red with a white top. I'm totally excited about my scout right now. Should get the springover started next week.
