What's your experience with the pro comp ES1000 or ProComp ES 3000 shocks?? I'm running a SPOA set up right now with the stock sammi shocks, so I could get 31's on it, but of course I have now flex. I plan on using F-250 shock mounts in the front along with some booty fab lower shock mounts, in the back both upper and lower mounts will be booty fab, I want to get descent flex and a fair ride. I'm also CHEAP, so I would like to know if the Procomps will give me a descent ride without costing an arm and a leg.

I ran the ES 3000 on my 92 toy with 4" lift and 33's and they worked great, much better than the Rancho 5000 I had on it previously. I'm currently running the ES 3000's on my '98 chevy K1500 with 6" lift and 35's and they have held up well for the past 5 years. I'm running Pro-Comp MX6 adjustables on my samurai and like them, but I think the Rancho 9000 (old style 5 way adustable) on my previous samurai with coils were a little stiffer, which I liked. So, unless your running a really soft suspension set up with lots of travel, I'd say the ES 3000's should work well on your samurai. Hopefully someone on here with a similiar set-up will have first hand knowledge for you.

For the cheap people that do not want to spend the extra $50 on the Doeschtech's the Pro-Comp ES 1000's work fine. They take quite a bit of punishment and still ride soft compared to stiffer valved shocks like the Rancho RS 5000's, but still don't perform as well as the the Doeschtech 8000's. The 3000's do well also, but the 1000's ride softer.

Yep, that would be me!! Thanks for the input, I think I'll try the 1000's since I can pick up 4 for $100 right now.

Sean,
I hate to disagree with you bit I found the Prp-Comps to be a bit stiff for my taste. On a heavier vechile there OK but on a lightweight Zuke They didn't float my boat. Then I tried the Dick Cepek shocks----turned out to be the Pro Comp in "drag". finally went with the Doeschtecs-----the poor mans OMEs ------ and my tailbone hasn't been happier.

I installed a set of the Pro-Comp ES 1000's on the rear of my Zuk after bending a pair of the DT's doing some big-air jumping and they ride smooth. I am not saying that they are as soft as the DT 8000's, but I am happy with the ride compared to what the ES 3000 or the RS 5000 rides like and I have had both on my Zuk in the past. I did notice that the ES1000's have a smaller diameter shaft than the DT 8000's and ocassionally at very low speeds I can hear the "squish" of the shocks compressing and expanding which I did not hear before with the DT's.
