Anybody know why my diesel 5.9 cummins motor would be smoking alot less. The mods I have are bully dog box, Vanakins box, and stage 8 injectorrs, and a turbo housing. The rest is stock besides the clutch and extra pusher pump.

The new turbo housing probably spools up faster. Black smoke is just unburnt fuel during low boost. IE you have more fuel than air. Now with the new turbo it spools up faster and higher thus the fuel that was previously unburnt is now converted to power.

This happened several months after the mods were already installed. I was told it may mean my injection pump was going. Not sure if this is the real problem or not. Thanks
I know that the cold air causes a LOT less smoke from my 6.2, but i am turboless. Depending on where you live im sure it could be a factor.

Could be a combination of the cold weather and change over to winter diesel.
