took the side glass out of a used hartop I bought to clean it up for painting. I got it painted but now I am having a hard time getting the rubber and glass back into the hole they came out of. Does anyone have any tips or solutions to my dilema? I tried using dishsoap for lube but that didn't work.

I'm going to assume it's mounted with a rubber gasket that has two slots in it. One for the lip on the hardtop and the other for the glass itself.

Lube the outer slot with the soapy water. Grab a piece of 1/8" diameter nylon rope and wrap it around the outer channel. Have someone push the glass with the gasket up against the opening from the outside. Grap both ends of the rope where they cross and pull them inward. That will start and feed the lip in and set the glass for you. Sounds complicated, but works pretty slick.
