f250 d44 disc brake Q? [Archive]

I have found a 73 f250 d44 and havent called on it yet, will it have disc brakes? What is the year they started?Thanks

Disc brakes started in 1976 for the F-250. '76 and '77 1/2 are low pinion , 77 1/2-'79 are high pinion. The '73 D-44 came in two version depending on weight rating of axle. The #3000 lb. version is standerd. the #3500 lb. version has large external hubs held on by six 3/8-16 bolts. The axles of the #3500 lb. version are the same part #'s as the closed knuckle D-60 that came out '74-75 1/2.
