Here is the scoop on my Powder Coat Spray Booth and Oven. First the Spray Booth; it uses two tractor air filters and one home furnace squirel cage fan. It is just a steel cabinet that houses the filters and the fan sucks air from behind the filters. I also added some valves and pvc pipe to make a low pressure filter purge setup to clean the filters, but most of the time I just vacuum out the filters. The oven is just a steel cabinet with a door. The walls are all insulated with High Temp Blanket insulation. This oven uses a standard kitchen oven bake and broil element and themostat. Yes I know these items look a little hokie, but I've been using them at least twice a week for four years! I've gone way beyond the one year warranty on the oven elements, ha ha ha! Here are some pics...

Looks good. I'm guessing that the fan is mounted below the enclosure? Can see the two filters sticking up in back. Just enough draw to keep the powder from flying out of the enclosure?
I've seen people use a cast-off regular stove to do powdercoating, but the size was always the limiting factor. Getting a stove for free so that you had the element, thermometer, and wiring and then making your own enclosure would work pretty nicely!
Thanks for posting the suggestions!

Man I have been thinking about building a oven when I get my gun in a couple of week's.Could you ethier post or email me some pic's of the inside and the material you used.. headtraumacustoms@urnet.net .I have also thought about making a brick oven but not sure if I was going to use oven elements or propane burners in the bottom. The man that run's redneck ram made his own oven also.I believe it is large enough to put a car in there if needed.Thx for posting

I wonder if an old refrigerator would make a good case for an over-once you removed the plastic pieces. It would be insulated and much larger, and probably really cheap :D
