Ive searched. Can u run a 87 with just the coil and hot wire to it. I got mine with the body off the frame and the motor out. It had a 4.3 on the frame. So im currently puttin it bak stock with a spring over. I am scared of all the smog stuff and wires comin off the carb. Any input would be appreciated.

The carb is computer controlled. You can run a weber carb, or search for other kinds of carbs. I know some people use a toyota carb or a pony carb from a canadian Hyndai car. I still run the stock carb because it works off road. JCC

you are corect the ignition only requires a hot to the coil and the distributer, as well as a trigger wire from the distributer to the coil. most of the wireing is for the stock carb a weber or other will only usa a wire or two (weber needs only one) the alternator will need some as well I dont know isactly what is what there I have a gm alt and it has 3 wires. 2 pos and one for the idiot light.

Thanks. I guess I will just have to figure out all the connections. The motor was out and it will take some time to get it all goin again.
