Well, moving on to other projects, my Fj-40 mainly, I'm selling my basically built and done 85 4 runner. I'm putting up a list, its a long one, so get ready. Oh, I'm putting the price up front so you know A: if you can afford it B: I don't waste your time reading 3 screens of posting to find it.
Price: $9500. Trade: FJ-80 Landcruiser of equal value.
Here we go, 1985 Toyota 4 runner. Since I have built this rig, everything has less than 500 Miles on it.
Engine is a 22re, has a Thorley header, 2.5 exhaust and flowmaster, run to the rear and out. New timing chain, still makes some noise, I was planning my last mod as a Taco 2.7 swap. The engine also has a new clutch, Cenerforce daul friction, new rear main, pilot and throw out, surfaced flywheel. Engine runs Syntec.
Tranny is a w 56, stock as far as I know, doesn't make noise.
T case's. 1 21 spline reduction case, 1 23 spline turbo case with 5.1 aa t case gears installed. AA adapter, Sky skid plate t case mount, standard shifters. Drive train lift of 2.5 inch's on the t case's done, this leaves about 2 inch's hanging underneath.
Drive lines, front is a 14 inch travel custom unit with 3/16ths wall dom tube, cv jointed, using stock toyota parts, easy to find spares if need be. Rear is a balanced and trued 3/16ths dom also, non CV. Rear axle is turned to t-case.
Rear axle. 5:29 v6 thirdmember, with cs eliminator, multipattern flange, new bearings, seals etc. True full Spool, not welded. New axle shaft bearings, disk brake conversion, shaved diff, and it is a wide axle, has braided brake lines from the splitter out to the calipers, they are non e-brake. Rear axle is cut and turned, braced, has a 3 link traction bar system on it.
Front axle, stock 85 axle housing with extra brackets cut off and ground down. Trussed and gusetted, has our 3 inch axle wideing kit, vented brakes conversion, Birfield Eliminator, 5:29 gears, 4 cyl housing, lockright, new bearings through out, diff and axle outers. Sky's Stage 6 high steer with a custom brace installed on the arms. 1/4 wall tie rod and drag link, with fj-80 ends.
Tires/Wheels. It rolls on 37 12.5 15 MTRs, with typical rock rash, 75% tread left. They are on 15x10 Sky Loc 32 bolt aluminum beadlocks, Mickey Thompson wheels.
Interior. SR5 rear seats, guage cluster, tiltometer, clock, etc. Has Mitsu Eclipse seats in front. Everything is grey. It has a sony cd player, 6x9s in the rear and 4's up front. CB, grant wheel, Fire exstingusher, Rear sport cage kit. Floor is bare, with a durbak coating on it.
Exterior is Toner Yellow, body is in good-great shape, couple dents, no rust, Custom front bumper with a warn HS9500i and rope. Has a custom rear bumper with wrap around corner guards, standrd tube nerfs, Pickup tail gate conversion, Soft top, new windshield and wipers.
Suspension is 63 inch chevy rears with our conversion and our johny joint shackle hangers, added a couple wagoneer leaves to the pack, as well as on load carrying custom leaf. Has a 1 inch steel block as well, using the spring pin to hold it together. U bolt flip kit. Rear has our shock hoop kit with 13 inch tavel DT 3000's, up front is a doubled up rear pack, with a u-bolt flip and dt 3000's again, braided stainles brake lines, our boomergang shackles and our front hanger moved forward 1 inch. Axle is aprx 3.5 inch's forward of stock. Firewall was modded to fit the 37's better.
Last, the rig has and IFS box, with a chromo flat pitman arm, pushed was up out of the way. I have installed a premeir power welder and alternator, which have been used many times on the trail, not on this rig though. The front bumper has KC lites, and underneath are 4 rock lights. There is more to this that what I have here, but I can't remeber it all.
I added this up my cost on the build up and it came out around $16,300, supposing I bought an 85 runner and didn't pay over $1000 for it.
I am not interested in payments, no trades except a fj-80 cruiser or possibly a very nice fj-40 or 45.
This rig is very capable, there were no corners cut in its build up, it has been extremely reliable for me.
Here are some pics of what it looks like. If interested contact me via e-mail at skymfg1@aol.com or call (541) 736-3743.
