I use mineral spirits (paint thinner) in my Snap On system.

What do you do with the stuff when it is too crappy to use anymore?

I use mineral spirits. You can get the low odor kind, but it is 2 1/2 times more expensive. I just use the regular. I also keep the lid closed when not in use to cut down on evaporation.

Kerosine, lower flash point than mineral spirits. When it wont run through the pump anymore I take it to the local haz mat collection place...

Whatever you do, don't use Zep orange solvent. It'll clean the shit out of anything you put in the washer but it'll melt your plastic pump and strip the paint out of your washer.

I'd vote for kerosene.

Napa sells "petrolium naptha" here in Washington, which is your basic standard solvent. I wonder if they sell it in Cali too?

I use diesel. You can get it at almost any gas station. Screw tracking down some specialized cleaner when you're in a rush. I can't say it's totally 100% safe, but it doesn't catch on fire as quick as gas. Cleans good too.

Wow! Last time I suggested diesel fuel, I got trashed for it.

It's cheap, relatively safe and easy to get rid of when it's spent. Best to me is it is not a hazardous waste when I'm done with it (characteristic wastes)

I mix mine with gasoline and burn it in the shop truck-hey it was originally motor fuel wasn't it?
