New 400 is in, all ready to fire up once I get the headers in this week.
Primed her with an old dizzy shaft on a dril a few times. Now that she is together, I was fooling with it turning it over( had to make the electronic ignition harness this weekened)...
Before I run it I wanted to know if there is any special procedure I should follow as far as torquing the rockers down. I've turned it over a few times making sure the valves are fully closed..then just made the rockers wrist tight ( stupid torque wrech doesn't read down to 18-25 ft lbs) on all of them . Left the valve covers loose so when I fire it up I can adjust as needed. Nothing seems out of whack or overly tight/loose as it stands. Just wondering what may happen once the lifters pump up.
Anyone offer me some insight?
Thanks
