: Back to the grindstone...

Finally healthy enough to continue working on the Scout again.
I tacked the front spring hangers in but ran low an gas and I wanted to save some for the rear brakes (Which I didn't have time to weld after all) My Spring angle looks a whole lot better than what I had. I also got the 14bolt u-bolted in but didn't weld the perches in yet. I installed the rear disk and cut some 1/2ton caliper brackets for the mounts. It matches up with about an 1/8" gap between the top of the tube and the bracket. I also got the Atlas bolted up, cut the floor out some more and then raised it up the about where it will be mounted. This puts the crossmember about 1.5" up from the bottom of the frame and the bottom of the t-case about 3.75" from the bottom of the frame. So, with that in mind, I removed the t-case and clocked in down one position. Now the t-case is about 1.25" up from the bottom of the frame. I didn't realize that I would have this much clearance with this thing. I should have the t-case in this week and the rear end ready to go also. My beadlocks are supposed to show up tomorrow and my GM brakes on the 60 may be done as well. This is starting to come together....:)

Yeah I could search but, what springs are you running in the front? I just found out I'm screwed on the front end I have, about 1.5" wider perches, so I'm considering doing the Chebbie spring swap since I have to make all new hangers.

Joe,

I'm running Wagoneer Rancho 44044's. They are approx 46" long with a 2" offset pin. From the pics of ____(I forgot who it was, but fill in the blank and you win!) the 44044's look like they flex great for the SII's. Let me know if you have anymore questions.

Whaddya mean "1.5 inch wider perches"?

Center pins are 1.5" further apart? Or the perches are designed for 3.5" wide springs? or...?

Rustoleum White had to tell me my Scout springs are an inch or 1.5" different center pin spacing vs. the stock Chevy spacing on my front axle.

I never noticed. It bolted right up with less difficulty than I had when I put the 4" lift springs in..

Fawk it. Run it! :flipoff2:
