Rigid drill press?

Is this Rigid drill press that Home Depot sells any good?

I got some gift certs for Christmas so I am thinking about buying it.

That looks like a China Inc. press. I have the Hitachi version from Lowes with the :rainbow: lazer allignment thingy. It's an OK press for the money (mine was $215 on sale), but if you want China Inc., I bet you can get a better price at HF. That press is also badged by JET and who knows who else.

My issues are that the base is too small and so it's not very stable, and it could be more rigid (hmmmmm) in the upper end of the riser. Oh, and the chuck is absolute garbage so you're gonna need to blow another $100 plus on a decent one.
