: 15" wheel on a 14 bolt with drums?
patooyee 02-11-2002, 09:11 AM I was trying to order wheels today and no one will sell me anything in a 15" wheel because they say that it won't fit over the huge drums on my 14 bolt rear axle. I say they are wrong. I was going to get 2.5" or 3.5" backspacing for the front d60 and was wondering if the same wheel would fit the rear axle. I know this has probably been gone over before, but I couldn't find anything in the search. :flipoff2: Please help, I am trying to get them by this weekend.

RodeoRob 02-11-2002, 09:31 AM Yup, they are wrong. My friend runs 15x10 AR767s on his Blazer w/ a 14bff... no modifications needed to fit them on the rear.

YellowCJ 02-11-2002, 10:26 AM I am running 3" of backspacing on mine, not a problem, and could probably go more, just not sure how much more.
chris demartini 02-11-2002, 10:51 AM I run 15x10 w/ 4 1/8" backspace. The fit over the huge drums that my 1 ton 14 came with.
Rover Addiction 02-11-2002, 11:11 AM Yup.. I have 15x10 wagon wheels on my 14 bolt. I think they're something like 2" or 2.5" Back space in order to fit, but they do work! And when I recently tried to find another rim to use as a spare, I got the same story.. Sorry, they don't exist.. Bull @#$! I just haven't found anyone who has them right now. :(

ChadLloyd 02-11-2002, 11:29 AM get a hold of High5. I think he has a cab and chassis 14 bolt (62 inch wide) 14 bolt in his jeep, I'm pretty sure he is using 15 inch rims.
Cliffy [JD] 02-11-2002, 12:09 PM Call summit, they sold me mine 3 days ago. Just ask for the 15"x??" 8-lug pattern I think it's 8-on-6.5 Don't even tell 'em it's for a 14bolt. If they insist, say it's for a ____dodge with a rear D60 :D that'll get ya what you want.
Although I did tell summit mine was for a '73 1ton chevy and they guy NEVER questioned me.
High5 02-11-2002, 01:50 PM 15"ers fit mine with both drums and now the disc's. i did have to hit the calipers on the 3/4ton calipers when i went to disc's. very little though. like i said no problems at all with the drums. :D
scoobydann 02-11-2002, 03:54 PM i have 15x10 w/4" back spacing and had to gring my calipers (disk conversion) the same amount as the 1/2 ton front. friend has 15x10 w/ 2.5 backspacing and has gobs of room to fit the big drums

I've been on the phone with them, 4WDPH, and Natl Tire all day long and none of them sell a damned 15x10 8-lug wheel with less than 4" of backspacing! RRRRRR! WHY NOT!?!?!?

High5 02-11-2002, 07:00 PM 4wheel parts wholesalers has them. that is where i got my black rockcrawlers. 3.5" bs
Hillbilly 02-11-2002, 07:01 PM Call Summit they can help you out on custom backspacing, sometimes it'll take a few weeks, but they have always been very good to me when I've placed my orders with them. When you order wheels with custom backspacing they will come plane jane(no finish at all), but most people don't care and want to paint them anyways.. And by the way do a search newbie!!!:flipoff2: :flipoff2: :flipoff2:
Triaged 02-11-2002, 07:19 PM I got my 15x10 8lugs from National Tire and wheel. They were something like $68 each for Eatons. I got mine in black (chrome is more). AFAIK 3.5" is standard for the 8 lug heavy duty wheels. The all the other bolt paterns come with 4" backspacing.
TX4WHEELER 02-11-2002, 07:23 PM You can get the black Rock Crawler wheels from 4WP's. I just bought 15X10, 8X6.5 bolt pattern, with a 2.5 BS. Less than $50 per wheel

I'm guessing you're asking what backspacing?? standard 4" There's a guy here on pirates that said that's EXACTLY what his set-up is. Same wheels and all. I got the US70 series. YEs in stock I ordered them Thursday and I expect to see them tommorow or wednesday.:usa:
Tony Sobrito 02-11-2002, 08:30 PM just bought from summit racing 5 rims delivered, 2 in 2 days and 3 on 5th day 142.20 total shipping included. us wheel 15x8 8 lug 4 1/8 backspace p/n usw-70-5880 steel whitespokes. fits 14 bolt no problem and 60f with moderate but safe caliper grinding. yes they have 10" wheels for a few bucks more each. learned this here on pirates best $10 bucks i have spent in years.
BadDog 02-11-2002, 09:14 PM I just put 4 42" TSLs on 15x8 wheels with 4" back spacing. Rims cost me less than $100 total, got them from Discount Tires. I have room to spare (though not much) on the largest C14 1 ton drum brakes made. The D60 front took some significant grinding (1/8”+) to make it work.
The Jerk 02-11-2002, 10:01 PM dana 70 with drums, 15x10 2.5 inch back spacing. fit just fine with room to spare! jiMMy
Shaker 02-12-2002, 05:09 AM 15 in. rims will fit on there no sweat!! The "normal" backspacing on a 8 lug is 3.5 in. I do it all the time......I have been told by National T&W that they do not make a black 8 lug rim.....
PS: If anyone can tell me where I can order a BLACK 8 lug 15x10 in. rim I will be very grateful!!!!!:( :D

I ordered some 15" 8lug from summit with 2.5" backspacing and they came chrome, for $62....you can get just about anything you want, you just have to talk to the right person.
Hillbilly 02-12-2002, 12:46 PM I stand corrected, I didn't mention that chrome was an option. I'm to cheap to spring for chrome so I got the unfinished ones. But give Summit a call.:D
Krylon.. 02-13-2002, 08:36 AM I know of guys running 4 1/8" backspacing with a 15" rim and they still fit!
