I just got an email from some guy, could be on this board, don't know, wants to know if I'd sell the beast, so I replied, anything is for sale, depends on the price, so it goes back and forth, I ask him to make me an offer, comes back $5000  O'ok, so I replied, I'll sell the front axle for that......

yea that is about book for a 91 xj laredo but with custom suspension, 44's f&r with 4.88's and arb's, 35" ssr's and tons of custom sheit including the chop/ graft/ remodel job. All the spair axles, drivelines and ect. would go too. its a very capable rig with climate controll :smokin: not to mention, could easily be used as a daily driver, everything in the drive train has been replaced within the last 20k miles, with the exception of the motor, so if I were to replace the thing, I'd need a minimum of say 20k, and that would be on the budget side of things and putting more money and time into the thing than I want to do again,

what do you think?

I will give ya $5500 if that makes you feel any better. You want a Money order or cash when I pick it up? :flipoff2: :flipoff2:

Some people have no clue.

I don't know anything about the motor/tranny/T-case but I am assuming you would like closer to $10,000 for it. :D

Yeah, that's an insult.

But what if you said, you'd think about it, for whatever reason?

He would have scored! I followed your build-up and you did a great job.

Don't let it get you down. There's always someone who's going to lowball you.

Hell, I just sold a blown & injected BBC for less than half of what I had in it. And the guy asked what else I could throw in to "sweeten the deal"

Yeah, I get people all the time that want to by my Defender 110. I tell 'em sure, no problem, everything is for sale at a price! For me to duplicate the truck, legally, with no undue hassle to me, It would cost me somewhere around $60k. True, that would then have straight body panels and a newer engine, but I'll need to deal with the mental anguish of selling the rig that I expended a lot of effort finding and getting running.

I actually had one guy take my number and say he'd call me back! Of course, he didn't, but just that he would even consider it...

I understand your pain guys. I had a bitch of a time getting any money for my FJ-55 and the guy that finaly took it gave me $1000 plus a custom stereo setup for my GF's car and he still ows me a couple free tattoos. I figure I had about $8000 into that truck but I HAD to get rid of it.

I offer $5800 site unseen. :flipoff2: $5500 is WAY to cheap for all the mods on that thing. Some people!

Hopefully that guy looks at the current pics and realizes he was making an offer on a trick XJ.

Sorry guys - what you you hae on a rig is nowhere near what they are "worth" on the street....

Shoot - I could not even get my Toy sold for $8k with tons of mods... and I see fully built Jeeps with 1 ton gear go fir under $10k all the time....

I finally parted mine out - and after adding up the prices for what I have sold, and what I am keeping for the next project - I basically sold my Toy for about $7500....

I agree with DRM, at least here in the south you dont get shit back on what you put into a truck.

Infact, the actual rules followed by almost EVERY car dealership is that you should get 5 to 10% on the modifications done (if they are desirable ones).

Granted we are not talkign about a delership but a private deal...
So that has to be taken into account.

I know one thing. I have bought two heavily offroaded vehicles as my offroad vehicles and if I had to do it again I would have just spent the extra cash to buy an earlier model rather than fucking with getting it runnning well when I could have been making payments on a dependable truck and just modifying it for better offroad use.
