I have the chance of getting a 70's model 3/4Ton International Pick Up 4x4. The woman just wants someone to take it from her property. It is intack but is said to have a cracked head.

What kind of parts where used?
Axles?Transmission?TransferCase?

That is just what I am told happened to it. I don't know for sure....I do like the idea a salvaging it. I haven't seen it yet but I think it was used as a beater around a ranch for awhile before it broke down. The body is proably trashed and it has been sitting out near a revine where it broke down for almost a year.........

I just want you to know Reuben,....you spell like me and I knew what you ment. If I wanted a gramer lesson I would have asked this question on WebstersDictionary.com's Forum.

I came here because this is where 4wheelers know what they are talking about, and you can ask a question without getting :mad3:

I would still like somemore info if anyone can agree with Reuben....Like what side is the front pumkin on and does it have disc brake up front?

where abouts is Hanford, if you are gonna scrap it and just use the running gear i could use the bed, well depending on the condition.

I have a 71 1210 Camper Special sitting in the weeds by my barn. It has a Dana 44 8 lug closed knuckle front, not sure what rear. 4.09/4.10 or 4.10/4.11 ratios. I have the line setting ticket and could look up the exact equipment. I'm just going from [lack of] memory right now. Problem is IH used codes like FA-## for "Front Axle ##" and RA-## for "Rear Axle ##". My truck has a really unique tranny, a 5 speed with granny to OD. Weird shift pattern. Again I forget the number. The truck has a 392 V8 engine w/ a Holley 4 bbl. Last it was run everything was working fine, but that was about 20 years ago. Also the front axle was broken in half and the bottom torn out of the t-case when I wrecked it the last time it was driven.

I would be willing to part it out if anybody is interested.

That tranny is a t-34 (IH tranny) and worth a couple bucks to people. The OD units are hard to come by.

Zuperdave, this is the Pirate 4x4 BBS, what did you expect? I search could have probably netted your answer... but..

front it a closed knuckle, drum brake D44, unless some swapped it out. Rear is a FF D60, both should be 8-lug. If its all wide-6 lug then its an earlier (60's) model. If its a '73 model it should have an open knuckle D44 w/drums and flat-tops, if its a '74/'75 model, open knuckle with discs and flat-tops. Motor will be a IH 266, 304, 345 or 392... most likely a 304 or 345. Tranny could be a t-98 or if a later model, t-19. T-case an NP 202 or 205. All are good parts, but not necessarily good swap candidates into a wheeler.

If the cab's not totally rotted out, I'm sure someone will want it, if you got the time to get it and store it to try to pass it on.

Oh and reuben: you don't need a fancy speller program... I'm sure you have WORD or something on your computer.... guess what, it has a spell checker.... Its what I use, and makes posts MUCH easier to read.... try it.

Now I just need to decide.....Do I salvage it or do I let it go to somebody else.......Hmmm. :shaking:  :shaking:

1980 CJ7,
You're in Middletown? You're only a mile or two from my house. If you are seriously looking to get rid of the truck I'd like to talk to you. Send me a PM or email or something.

I live right by the Oxford Valley Mall, just off Woodbourne. If you're driving on Woodbourne, look down the last street before you hit the tracks. My red and white Scout is parked on the street.
