SVARAS 02-11-2002, 10:38 AM I just bought an '88 350 TBI. The engine came without the ECM and wire harness. Does anyone knows how to identify the correct ECM (thinking that I'm gonna buy a used one). I know that the original ECM had the Service number 1227747, but it also had other numbers. Are those important?????. It is the chips you should be worried about. example: There is a V8 puter with a chip for a 4.3 in my S10 right now. The processor is the same, you just need to tell it what it is processing for. Realsquash 02-12-2002, 12:35 PM It's not exactly true that any computer that plugs in will work. The 1227747 happens to have been used on 4.3 and 5.7 TBI engines. To answer your question, get a 747 ECM from anything. Then you need to call howell-efi or a place that does EFI chipping, order up a chip w/o VATS. Squash | |
