anyone ever have this problem? it happens to my 40 every winter,my b/m will leak down thru the seal and drain some of the b/f into the cab.it doesnt matter if its a toyota b/m or aftermarket.just when it gets cold out maybe around 32 degrees f. sometimes it will totaly drain.i know the seals are contracting when its cold, but is this common?

nope, but every year(it seems) when it gets down below freezing for the 1st time in the year one of my cruisers always seems to have a coolent leak from a hose clamp(s) that just needs another turn or so. Today it was the green 40..........leaking/driping around the lower hose clamp....a few turns and it was fine.........never leaked before. Last year it was the 45LV.

My 40 does the same thing every winter..

Never had any M/C leaks when it was cold.

I had the same problem in my '68 for years. Only happened below freezing. Normal winter ritual was to pop the hood and top up the reservoir daily. I rebuilt the original master cylinder a couple of times (honed it out, new seals, etc), but it still had the cold weather leak. Replaced the MC with a new one from SOR a few years ago, and haven't had a leak since.
