fire at Suncor Energy's oil sands operation in northern Alberta forced the evacuation of about 250 people Tuesday.
The blaze began about 9:15 a.m. MT in a section of the plant that converts bitumen into crude oil products. No injuries were reported, said Suncor spokesman Brenda Erskine.
Most of those evacuated were allowed back to work later in the morning, she said.
A cause for the fire was not immediately determined.
