I tried hooking up the black wire on the starter to the + terminal on the coil and the problem still exists. I do believe it is the Jacobs box that is the problem. When I pull the (-) batery cable and touch it to the (-) terminal with the key in the off possition and everything on the truck off, there is a spark. If I disconnect the Jacobs, the spark goes away.

Am I right in assuming that when everything is off there should be no spark when touching the ground cable to the (-) term of the battery?

Is the Jacobs box suppose to pull power from the battery even when the key is in the off possition? I have tried all day to contact Jacobs customer service, but I have been disconnected every time.

Any way to further check to see if it is the Jacobs box?

Any more advise would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

The box shouldn't get power when the key is off. If your sparking, it usually means something is drawing power or you have an unwanted ground........:skull:

Sparking when you put the cable on the terminal? If you have a small voltage meter, disconnect the (+) terminal, and put the volt meter inbetween the battery and (+) cable. If there is a drain, there will be voltage flowing. Pull each fuse out, one by one, and watch the volt meter. See if the drain is something going through your fuse box. If you pull the fuse, and the voltage meter drops to zero, then the drain is somewhere in that wiring system. I'm not familiar with a Jacobs box, but unplug it and see if there is any more voltage draw.

Wiring 101. I hate electrical stuff. I can do most of it- but if it says anything about my level of competency: My blinkers still don't work....

Thanks for the replies. Its the Jacobs Box. No current pull when it is disconnected. Guess I'll be sending it back for repairs.
