I don't know if the pic will work I have never tried to post one before.
I don't have a lot of work into the truck but its my DD and I have seen a lot of guys having their trucks stolen here on the board in the last year.
Just wanted some more eyes lookin out for it.

My pickup was recovered by Eugene Police on 1-10-05. The tech for this is that even though your truck may be basically stock, and all of your tools and stereo stuff are out of sight people may try to steal your vehicle.
The theives attempted to open the drivers door and broke some key off inside of the lock, attempted to open the passenger window and pulled the weatherstripping out. They then broke out the rear window to enter the truck. They removed the cargo box from the rear, took all the tools and recovery gear from the box and under the seats, pulled the cd player (which didn't have the face on it) from the dash, removed the cb, pulled the speakers, took the amp from under the seat, and took the subwoofer from behind the seat. The people who found it said another toyota had been parked next to it, and there were speaker boxes and the face of a deck from someone elses stereo left in my truck so the theives had hit more that one vehicle.
So here's a heads up for people in the area as to what the theives were looking for, they are also joyriding the vehicles becuase mine is now covered in mud.
I am just glad to have it back, thanks to everybody for keeping an eye out for me.

That sucks....... got any other pictures you can post. I live only 30 miles away and will keep my eyes open for it. I'm also in Eugene and Springfield quite a bit.

Register and post the info over on www.oregontrailjamboree.org website. Thats the web site for one of the local 4wd clubs based out of the area, Oregon Trail 4wd Association. I could do it myself but if you post it you can edit the info later on. let me know if you have any problems over there since I'm a Moderator on that site. The other club is Junction City Jeepers but I don't think they have a website.

BTW, call up Sky at www.Sky-manufacturing.com and Mike at Dunks Performance to give them a heads up since they are both located in Springfield. Might even be worth stopping by and giveing them a picture so they have the license plate number handy.

Hope that helps a little.......

Thanks, I posted on oregontrail and called Sky and Dunks. I may have to let pete know that he can't sell that 85 he just got to my little brother any more since it appears that I am in the market.

There is a Toyota jacking going on in the area right now, over the last 3 weeks over 15 rigs have been reported stolen, I've been called on numerous ones, most are found out by the Bethel area in the abaondoned fields between 99, west 11th, and 126.

Are they stripping them or just joyriding?

Damn! Sorry to hear that.

I'll keep an eye out down here in the Medford area.

I transported my rig to my shop the other night at around 11pm, on purpose, and with a car cover over it, just so no scumbags would get any ideas.
I was hoping I wouldn't have to worry about this shit in Oregon too. But the low lifes are everywhere I guess. :(

I will keep my eyes out for it. I live in Junction City and will drive by the bethel area on my way home for whatever thats worth.

We all need tracking devices . . . or maybe more simply. A couple of trucks placed in "easy to steal" locations with tracking devices setup and ready to go left overnight might help us to recover some of these trucks or at least the thieves. How difficult would it be to setup a tracking device that could be easily hidden on a vehicle? If the police can't help then perhaps we can make something happen on our own?

I got a dirt bike back a couple years ago and we prosecuted the hell out of the son of a bitch. Ended up paying me more in restitution that I was trying to sell it for. That gave me hope that something in the system is working.

You know there's a whole board for this, but I really think it's dumb because no one ever looks on it. I think they should always let us post stolen rigs in their respective sections. Even if no one else feels that way at least the Yota board should.

are they targeting certain years or are all years at risk ??

sucks man mine was stolen twice within the last 2 years. got it back both times( a differant color the last time) and still wheel it today. what the catch is, is that 84 and 85 have 5 key combos, (thanks mr toyoda) 1 in 5 keys or next to anything will unlock a stock factory door lock and start the truck. if you do get it back or anyones worried about there rig..just start pulling the coil wire off when you leave it out of your site. then start installing kill switchs on everything...
you cant keep them out, they will just brake a window, but you can keep them from taking it...sorry man. when raven s site comes back up post it here, that way milwaukie/portlanders can keep an eye out
