In order to use the Ford disc brake spindles from the later Ford, you'll need to replace the bronco knuckles with the later ford knuckles.

When Ford re-engineered the front knucles to take disc...they also changed the spindle mount to a 5 stud knuckle. The later knuckles wont support the 6 stud early bronco spindle and vice-versa.

The Chevy knuckles, on the other hand , have the 6 studded spindle pattern....same as your EB spindles now.......except that the Chevy disc spindle will also take all of the same inner and outer bearings for Chevy or Ford disc hubs. Use the Ford hub on it as well. Only the inner bearing seal needs to remain Chevy.

Brakes will need to be CK1500 caliper and pads...and those will work with Ford rotors.

Well that sucks. I guess ill just replace the whole knuckle and all. Im buying the whole setup from my friend, I dont have enough money to go purcahse everything for the chevy swap, or i would do it. Im doing a tie rod over conversion, so i guess the slightly lower knuckle wont make to much of a diference.

I have a set of the stock 1979 Ford knuckles and a set of the chevy 6 holed spindles.... Was going to use them on the Ford axle with my newly aquired flat top Chevy knuckles. The truck engine burned....and now I'm off to buy another truck.

I'm at a point where I'd like to keep them to install them....but the new truck is gonna cost me too.
I'll bounce it back and forth for a whle as to whethr I'll sell them or not.

Ah! What I was going to tell you....
The Ford TREs mount under the stock steering arms (unless you re-taper), and Chevy knuckles mount the TREs over the steering arms.
