Dear Sir,

I just want to take up a few minutes of your time. There is legislature being presented to the President of the United States of America that will designate more than 620,000 acres in Utah as the new San Rafael National Monument. I am opposed to this proposal because I think it violates both the spirit and the letter of the Antiquities Act. This proposal may never come before you and your office, but I do hope that you and your office’s influence will make an inquisition. I urge you to help reject this proposal as it is written. If signed, public access to this area will be severely restricted and the ability of Americans to see and explore this area could go away. For years, citizens of this great nation have been allowed motored access; please help to keep this privilege available to responsible generations that follow you and I.
