this is probably an old question, but i have had a hard time finding any information on if the swaybar needs to be completely taken off or not for crossover steering. ive got a 77 chev p/u with a 4" lift.
thanks

i had a swaybar on with an 8'' dana 60 and crossover, everything was real close togethet though, not good if u wanna do anykind of flexin.
if it wont work, just take off the swaybar, i dint even notice it when i took mine off.

I would just take the sway bar off like thundr undrgrond said. More flex, and it should handle about the same
I took the swaybar off years before I had crossover.
the stock method of attaching the swaybar is a bad idea anyway.
need to add some endlinks to reduce binding.
so you could use them to help with clearance issues.
Fords come factory with crossover and swaybars but the bar runs along the dif and the endlinks attach to the frame

yeah, ive been running with the swaybar disconnected, but with all the highway driving i do now, it handles pretty crappy. i guess i'll just keep everything the way it is for now. thanks for the help

i have a 77 3/4 ton with 4" and 36",handels just fine with or without the sway. body roll is noticeable but not ever close to needing a sway bar. there is now way you can run both. a straight draglink will hit the cross member unless you cut the hell out of it, a bent link will be seriously smashed by the sway bar.
