I searched.
I saw one guy used what I was thinking about, but no specific post-install type pics. I want to use a 44 caliper bracket, cut most of it off, weld it to the tube.
Does this put the caliper in the right spot, or does the rotor need to be spaced or anything.
Thanks!

Thanks, I've seen all that stuff before though.
I just want to know about using stock D44 front caliper brackets and cutting them down. I'm too lazy, my torch is broken, whatever, I'd rather just use free parts than cut the brackets from scratch. If they'll fit..:D

Check out my WWW link below. Then go to the 2002 build up. I used a 44 caliper bracket and cut off the bottom. After grinding a little, it fits with about 1/8" gap between the top of the tube bracket. I haven't welded them on yet, but it does work. Also, MY new 15x10 MRTs just showed up today and the test fit shows that I might have to take about 1/16" off of the caliper if it evers pushes all the way out. As soon as I bleed it, it will fit fine. My Back spacing you ask? 3.75". Also, I used 1975 Chevy 3/4 ton rotors.

Right on. Thought that would work, doesn't look bad at all.
I'm gonna have about $230 in a 4.56, disc braked, welded 67" 14 then. Not bad eh? :smokin:

Sounds about right...but mine is ~63" wide. I had to buy my buddy a fullwidth D70 and we traded. Funny thing is, another buddy tried to give me this axle about 2 years ago and I didn't want it. my other buddy bought it from him and then I had to trade him for it...o-well, still cheap and strong.
