Hi,

What axles are on a 1980 suburban, and what is the pumpkin positioning? Is teh fron a driver's or passenger side drop? And what is the length of these puppies?

Thanks,

Gui

Gui is it a 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton?
Should be 10 bolt front 12 bolt rear for 1/2 ton, I think 3/4 is 10 bolt front 14 bolt rear... I can never remember if the 3/4's kept the 44 or not that late. Should be somewhere in the range of 65-66" rear and about a 70" front or so.. I think... going from memory. OH and passenger side drop

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the info. I will have to check if it is a 1/2 or 3/4. So for both applications, the front pumpkin would be a passenger side drop?

I came accross one that has been wrecked, and can get it pretty cheap. I wanted to getr the axles for my Jeep ;) What do you think? Are they too wide, and is there any way I could utilize the front 10 bolt, like changing my transfer case for a Dana 300?

Thanks and I appreciaet your help!

all chevys had passenger side drop

i would think that they would be full width so that would be up to you, all chevy front axles will work with a D300 since it has a passenger output, just hope it has the D44 front otherwise the 10 bolt is worthless

1/2 ton = 10 bolt rear, 10 or 12 bolt rear (just count the bolts on the diff cover) 67" wide front

3/4 ton= probably same front but 69.5" wide and 14 bolt rear
