Wow, cool pic cj66, and not because of the roll cage. Maybe I'm easily impressed but that looks like real world flex. That beats the pants off a ramp picture (even if it is staged). Lemme ask you, could you actually cross that little rock ditch or is that as far as you could go?

I wa s looking at the large rock behind his rear axle.

I have made it through there every time before this pic. but the front driveline broke. The ass slid over too far to the right and that rock that my rear tire is supposed to run up hung me up as the other guy noted. Missed it by that much.

Oh, a newbie trap. Think I'll post it somewhere and say this is my CJ with a 2000 RTI score - it's got all 4 wheels on the ground.

It's not as elaborate as some here, but it's my handiwork, for better or worse...

The basics: This is a Smittybuilt CJ front hoop, it is the NON-padded dash/soft top version. It is mated to a late model YJ hoop. There are four Smittybuilt spreaders in addition to the original YJ sport-bars on the outsides for the grab-handles for a total of 6 supports. The grab handles are 1" .120 wall tubing. There is also 1.5" .120 wall tubing added in for the dash-bar, stringers along the bottoms of the door sills, and a rear spreader between the hoops. The corners are gusseted with Moroso gussets available from Summit Racing. It's finished with Rustoleum primer and Safety Red Industrial grade paint.

The console is made out of 16 Ga. steel welded to the top of the cage. The bottom was done by welding angle iron with tack-welded 1/4" 20 pitch nuts on the inside of the rail. The hardware for the bottom of the console consists of marine grade stainless hinges, stainless button-head hex screws, and thumb screws courtesy of McMaster Carr.

The electrical in the overhead console: all supplied via 4 ga welding cable for ground and power. Master cutoffs under hood and inside the panel itself are done with Marine grade 150 amp reset-able breakers. Distribution is done with a 10 gang marine power/ground distribution panel. There are slots for 10 switches overhead. They are currently using Radio Shack 30 Amp illuminated switches for all lighting. Also included is the winch master arm and in-cab control. Function is rounded out by a Garmin GPSMap 176 mount/power feed and Midland 79-290 CB mount/power/antenna feed.
