Moab is great! I go there at least once a year. For a first time I would recomend the you do the Rim Trail,(take a right a mcyd's and go about 21/2 miles it will be on the left with signs). Another good one is hells revenge. you enter by dump bump. Nice long trail with some nice obsatcles on the side. Poisnous spider to the golden crack to golden spike is a killer loop. I like to run it the oppistite way I just listed. Furthest one out of town that I really lke to run. All of the above or lots of fun but the rim is a must for a first timer in my opinion. Be careful looks can be deciving.have fun.

Well I went in May of 2004 and stayed at the canyonlands campgrounds. It's practically in the center of everything and has clean facilities at a reasonable price. They have tent sites as well as electric sites for campers, and a gas station upfront that's convenient. Hope this helps.

Best weather would be late may or very early June, personally I don't think I go out there in July because of the heat. Every trail I ran was great, behind the rocks was a good trail with decent obstacles and bypasses for the less modified, also steelbender was decent (although not as fun as behind the rocks).

Oh - and I did the wedding on TOWT...

My personal webshots has a folder from Moab - mostly Steelbender, the Arches National Park, and Top of the World.

And some other web sites that were worth looking at.

I'd recommend not getting sucked into the Canyonlands by Night dinner cruise. That is, unless a man shining a flashlight on the rocks for $40 a pop sounds good to you...

Well, I actually missed the cruise...

The rest of my party took a wrong turn and ended up out at the "other bridge" at the end of the River Road (where we go to TOTW trail!) and they didn't figure out where they were until it was too late - so I got a pass and a refund.

After hearing what most of the rest of the club said, I was glad. You can see the rocks much better in the daylight and for freeeeeeee... :D
