I recently pulled my 2" springs and threw some 4" springs under my YJ....
(+1.25" lift shackles and 1" body lift)
for a total of 6"...

now...
i can't flex for shit until i lengthen the front lines but how much longer should i get them made?
what about rear lines?
and vacumn lines? do they need to be lengthened?
e-brake cables?

and how the hell do i get the housing where the soft lines meet the hard lines off the rear axle?

thanks

Did you not research this before you just put on 4 inch springs?

Go down and get some 6 inch lift stainless brake lines.

With a SUA Wrangler you wont need to lengthen the Ebrake cables ore the vaccum lines. both should be fine.

Unless your SOA, then its a whole different story.

I was able to move my hard lines on the front. I took them from the top of the frame rails to the outer bottom side. I run 3.5" springs and have plenty of drop, I also run longer shocks. In the rear I have peice of soft line that is about 10" longer than stock. if you look closely at the way that the brake line mounts to the hardline inthe rear with a little work you can actually just bend down the bracet from _| to _ _ and gain about 2"+.

I also moved the mount for my pass side ebrake cable but that is no biggy.

OR you can jsut go buy longers ones...

You can reroute your current lines to go inside the frame rail and make them work. But definitely get longer lines when you can afford it.

I know what i'm doing...
i'm just in no rush to get it done.

I knew i wouldn't be able to flex...

all i really wanted to know was what else needed to be lengthened...
Not SOA
the vacuumn lines look short but i'll see if i can find some slack somewhere in them if you say they don't...
I haven't had any problems with the e-brake either but i haven't flexed it up yet...cuz the brake lines...
I just kinda wanted to get it all done at once...

as for lines for 6" lift on YJ....
try to find some!
I can't find any...
I was gonna have some made up so i wanted to know a measurement...tip-tip...
I think i'll just double the stock line length :D
unless someone has some input for me...

anyone have a clue how i get the soft-hard line housing off the axle?

thanks

To get the hose of the axle, unscrew the breather hose thing and the square bras brake hose thingy will come off. The breather hose is what keeps it on.

As for the lines at the housing, on my 35 I just unbolted the little box thing from the axle, then unbolted the hard lines from the box.(maybe your talking about something else??)

For the lines it will be much cheaper to determine the length you need and go to a racing shop and get them.

******I got Front Skyjacker SS Lines on my YJ that are designed for a TJ with the 6" Rock Ready kit! They are a direct bolt on!

I ordered the ones for a TJ with the 6" Rock Ready kit straight from Sky Jacker when i saw my buddies that came in his TJ 6" Rock Ready kit and compared it to the JUNK GOODRICH one that i blew the weekend before and noticed they were the same fittings only the skyjacker one was about 2" longer!!

The instructions had the part # right on them so i called and ordered them! (no i dont have the part #, sorry)

They are 2.5" longer than the ones that are sold for the YJ (from various vendors) and are also covered with some plastic protective coating. Nice product and better then the GOODRICH junk one that exploded one me!

They give you PLENTY of slack!

sweet dudes...

thanks.

I surfed the skycrapper website but the accessories page is not workin :rainbow:

thanks for all the leads...
and that's prolly why i never twigged on the housing...
i was lookin at it from the front side...
not the back
i never pulled the breather hose off cuz i couldn't figure out what good it would do...
sweetness

i may still go with a lengthening...
reason being the damn frickin US border likes my ass
my money is worth half of what your is....
plus duty and tax and all the other crap i hafta pay...
holding fees etc...
it's ass rape

anyways...
thanks for the help guys
I'll have to weigh my options still though

If i do get them made....
I am told that the stainless steel lines the industrial shop are coated on the inside with teflon...the brake fluid corodes it and then you have chunks of teflon in your barke system....
so it's gonna be rubber coated hoses like the stock ones...

does anyone have a measurement...
bostonmangler - any idea overall length of your skycrapper lines...fitting to fitting?

thanks

Just use a 73-79 Ford F150 stock rear brake line for your YJ rear. There should be plenty of length and it is only $17.95 @ autozone.

Lat time I checked Teflon was impervious to just about everything........ the stainless braid skyjacker or Pro-comp or Earls hoses are 'zackly' the same thing.

the only problem I have with my local hose supplier is if I tell them that anything is for Vehicle use they get wiggy on me.
now I just have a fittings catalog and I tell them the fittings and the length and they never know what I am using the stuff for. better this way.
