you guys have got to come over here and have a look at prices. :D I'd only pay $1500 US absolute maximum for that first FJ45
I feel sorry for you.

Hmmmm.... that would cover a plane ticket and shipping
charges! Easier to "sneak" one in from Canada. :D

I wonder how many RHD Signaw steering boxes I could
find in Texas?

Hey Nolan.... think Julie would let you do a road trip?
Ship to Chile, and start driving from there!

Try finding on e on the east coast. I never find any, and I am only 20 miles to canada!!!
I have seen people pay over 1000 for one with no drivetrain needing complete restoration.

Actually, I don't think it would be too bad to buy a good, pre-1977 FJ45 in Australia (provided one could be found from that vintage) and ship it to the US (no importation headaches because the truck is 25 years old). Then you source a good later-model firewall out of a US parts truck and graft it onto your Aussie truck to get rid of the RHD situation, and "presto", FJ45 project.

To take advantage of the truck's shipping, one could fill the bed with some desirable parts that can be sold at profit in the US, to offset the cost of the shipping. Maybe toss in a diesel engine or two? The possibilities are endless...

What say you Aussies, how hard would it be to find a good truck from that vintage in Australia? Realistic? Pipe dream?
