: Tires Vs.gears Vs.lift
blzn74 02-12-2002, 04:09 PM I want to know some stories on the biggest tires ran, with the smallest lift and highest gears? Any 44" with stock gears? Guttless or what? Any 44" with no lift? :rolleyes:Anyone, Bueller?
Anyone, Anyone?:flipoff2: :usa:
Paul Gagnon 02-12-2002, 04:15 PM This is a pretty lame post. I'll let it stand if you can prove that there is some merit to it otherwise it's moreof a chit chat kinda question.
BLUESMAN 02-12-2002, 06:04 PM I'm running 38's with a 4" lift and alot of fender cutting!!!But I went to 3/4 ton diffs along with 4.10 gears. No stories to speak of, but it sure is a mean-muth'r!Hey Mr. Gagnon.....this post is no more lame than any of the posts here!LOL
Paul Gagnon 02-12-2002, 06:10 PM I know it is about a Chevy... LOL ;)
Just seems kinda dumb to post questions that are so vague. Oh well. :)
oh yeah, Mr. Gagnon is my Dad.
BLUESMAN 02-12-2002, 06:46 PM Gee' I'm so sorry that I gave a "Turd" explorer guy a little respect. At least you still support the American Auto Worker's Union!!!And since you own a "Ford", you buy alot of parts........Uh, I think your "exploder" is stuck under my K/10 BLAZER!!!

don't be so sensitive dude. I've got a Chevy sitting here in my driveway. I come home from work in a Jeep and get into a Chevy to get parts for my Ford.

blzn74 02-13-2002, 09:00 AM Better yet Im wondering what gears people have run with 44" tires, personally I have run 4:88 with 44" tires in a 3 speed automatic, it did good on the freeway but it had no torque getting off the line, Im wondering how 44"s would do with 5:13's or 5:29 'swith an automatic . Anyone run that combo?

LOL Good one! :D
MOFUGRA 02-15-2002, 03:03 PM me thinks that if you are wanting to make a big ass truck and run the biggest tires possible then you are also gonna need mad amounts of power, so with that in mind i would say forget 5.13's and go and get some 2ton rockwells with super strong 5.89's er somthin like that...:smokin:
4x4realm 02-15-2002, 04:14 PM If your running 44's you probley don't care much about the onroad performance so why not just run 2 transfer cases to get a beter crawl ratio?
charlo 02-17-2002, 01:28 AM Ive seen 44s on a six inch lift with extensive fender trimming, also 38s on a kid you not 27 inch lift(clearly with no fender trimming). The first was running 4.11s the second I have no idea. I was too busy laughing at it's center of gravity to ask what gears.
Pavement Pounder83 02-17-2002, 05:13 PM there is a toyota guy runnin 44s and no lift. :D:D:D

MOFUGRA 02-17-2002, 05:39 PM ya that truck is sick!!, but unless you plan on cuttin most of the front of your truck off and gettin rid of the bed, you should count on having a little bit of lift.
white knight 02-17-2002, 05:53 PM I'm running 44's with 410's, an sm465 tranny with a 468 under the hood.
Witht the poinies under the hood and those gears I get some good wheelspin.
Bet ya we'll get into the wheelspin debate and gears here :D

My 6.2L with 3.42's(I think) and 245/75R16's can't even spin the wheels in the snow. Now that's pathetic. :D
Desertdueler 02-20-2002, 06:09 PM Well in petersons a few years ago they had a mid 80'2 blazer on 44"s and a 1 inch lift. It had new wheel wells in the rear and the firewall was modified though
5.29:1????
get back to the toyota section boy.
never heard american stuff with 5.29
