Finally after nearlly a year my cruiser came home Saturday. It is a 1969 FJ-40 that was completly stock when we purchased it.
Specs:
- 1969 Toyota FJ-40 Land Cruiser
- Stock 3spd T-Case
- SM420 w/ AA, and custom made adapter made by Matt Hodges (TheLakeRat), owner of West Texas Off Road
- SOA w/ stock springs
- Front SR
- Front mini truck disc brake conversion
- All-Pro Hy-Steer cross over steering
- Custom made front bumper and 8pt. cage made by Elmer Chapman of Big Dog Custom Fabrication
- 4-Runner slip yoke driveshaft
- 35 BFG M/Ts on 15/8 Black Rock Crawlers
- Big Dog Cust. Fab. anti-wrap bar
- Cust. Twin Stick

Soon I will hopefully have the $$$ to convert to saginaw p/s, maybe with Matt's (TheLakeRat) Hydro Assist. And also to regear with 4:88s and ARB front, welded rear.
All of the work was done by Matt, Elmer, and Dan.

As soon as I take some recent pictures and of it "Getting It" I'll post them...

Matt made the adapter after we had to swap SM420's...the one that he replaced it with was the older model which did not fit. He ended up machining a adapter to fit, and theres no way in h3ll that we're takeing that crap out again :flipoff2:

Matt gave me a tri-pod style spare tire carrier, only thing thats missing is the verticle part that the tire sits on. We did take that donut spare off and put the 35 on there till we fix up the tri-pod carier
I'll get some pictures up of the seat mounts when I get home...

Nolen....We're planning on going some where during spring break when my brother comes home from Collage Station. Hopefull we'll have a trailer...just need some suggestions on where to go in Tx...I wont have gears, lockers or p/s, but I'll still show up my brothers jeep
The rock rash is on the things to do list
:flipoff2: :flipoff2:
Thanks for the complements

Nice looking cruiser.

Why not go ahead and weld the rear now? Its cheap, and the gain in traction would be worth it.

That is unless you want to out wheel the Jeep with both diffs open. In which case I would say go for it.:D

It's coming along. I got more work done this past weekend. A friend came down from DFW and helped. It makes a big difference when someone is helping. A little progress, a little more parts ordering. I can't wait to be able to drive it. Here's the latest pic.
