Are all 1.3L sami motors interchangably? I can get a short block (1986) at P&P for $80 and that is all I need to get my '87 zuk going. Now I know this is not the ideal way to go about it but I thought for $80 why the hell not? So I guess what I'm trying to get at is will it bolt to my tranny and will the head bolt on too. Other concerns???

Thanks, Phil:usa:

Yes yes and yes although you should see if you could get the 1.6
for $80.00

Thanks Rockrat. I wish I could get the 1.6L but they just happen to have a Sammy at the P&P so I think I'll take it. Anyone else have an opinion?

Are you planning on keeping it stock? How does the block look?
I like the products that asian auto sells he can get you alot more hp out of that little engine if you want him to. www.asianautopartsofaz.com is their sight.
If you get a block in good shape there is Soooooo much you can do to it. The head and everything are the same. You might start noticing differences in the 90 and newer because of the fuel injection (I'm not sure on this because I've never owned an FI). The engine I have is a Japanese import (30k) jobber. Not too sure of the year but I can only assume it is only 3-5 years old.
