My budy is looking to buy the Calmini 6.5 to 1 t case gears but I was wondering if there was another company offering the same ratio and quality but at a lower price. We tried the 4.5 to 1 kit this past weekend and it was pretty sick. But he wants it lower. The Calmini kit is $795.

Tell him to go with the 5.38's because 6.5 is sooo low that you only really shift into it for incredibly tech sections. Most of the time you'll find yourself starting in 3rd when your in 4-LOW just to keep a good pace through a section. I had the 6.5:1 and sometimes they were nice but most trips to the 'Con and dusy/ershim i would be in 4-HI and it would be a little quick and 4-LOW was a little slow. Not saying it isnt managable, but the 5.38's ( im pretty sure thats what their middle range is) would be perfect. IMHO.

The Calmini 5.14's are the best bang for the buck.

Brent @ Trail Tough has 'em for $719.00, 6.4:1 that is... this (TT) is always my 1st choice when it comes to all things Sammi. I soured quite a bit recently on Calmini, when I couldn't get a straight answer on their SR kit. Because I had bought it second hand, they didn't want to know of me from Adam, not a very good idea to help them with future sales. Brent on the other hand will help you out even if it costs him a potential sale. He gets my respect (& my money) for the way he handles his business.

I don't think he has the tooling but he had plenty of gears he could use to have gear cutter cut them for him like rockhoppers

I appreciate the info. His sami has stock gears in the axles, so thats why he wanted to go with the 6.5 to 1. Input please.
