Would like to sell my 1989 GTI or trade for a 4x4. All mechanicals were replaced within the last 6k miles. Unibody has 199,XXX KM, everything else has 6k>. Details are;

-1997 2.0L ABA block, forged pistons, crank and rods
-1.8L Corrado head, ported, SS valves, HD springs, milled for 11:1 compression
-Gasket matched ported intake manifold and TB
-Corrado fuel injectors/regulator, DigifantII fuel system(high pressure)
-MSD coil, 1990 computer/harness, new plugs/wires/cap/rotor/oil/filter/fuel pump/filter, runs very good
-1997 GTI 5 speed tranny, 3.64 diff with LSD, ABD short shift, weighted shift rod, Sachs clutch
-New axles, seals, steering and linkage, 11" brakes, braided lines, slotted/drilled rotors, race pads, 16" rims/newer Kumho tires
-Bilstein coilovers, Neuspeed springs, new bushings, Passat sway bars front/rear, Neuspeed upper strut braces front/rear
-1997 GTI black leather interior, very good shape. European gauges, Pioneer CD player, 6 speakers, small amp, awesome sound. New heater core, recharged A/C. Single round grille, Hella lights. Blacked out turns/tails. Tinted, alarm as well. Corrado steering wheel. Registration paid current, will be smogging this week if i get someone who is seriously interested. I am the 3rd owner, i have all records since new, and the owners manuals. Clean title, ready to go, gets average 30+mpg city.highway. Stupid question, but will the door handles break off in your hands?? My buddy had 2 of these cars, and it seemed like we were always having problems like this. What kind of HP is that motor putting out? Is the speedo in MPH, or KMH??

cjfromcj-i might be interested, i will check it out and let you know...

masterbeavis-the handles wont break off on this car, but i know what you are talking about, they have also been reinfoced with metal plates for strength, and to prevent people from prying in between the handles and doors, which is common for theives....the motor puts out approx. 175-180HP as it sits with smog equip, more without all that junk on there:)

Just put a brand new Magnaflow catalytic convertor on it....bump

redplastic, I kind of agree, but fwd is not fun anymore. I was thinking about doing a 944t engine and drivetrain, but i decided i like the roar of the v8 more. And dont worry, im weighting it properly by using a corvette tranny so its in the rear end to somewhat even out the weight.

And, another bump. If u were closer with the aba gti, i would take it for a test drive and maybe pick it up.

but its still a 350, eh redem yourself by twin turbo charging it, i did see a split window beetle with an lt1 setup in it with the vette 6spd though, pretty neat and scary fast too!!
