Who has the MRT style weld on kits? I just did my buddy's Rockstompers, and I'm thinking of using a MRT type on mine...Anybody have any experience with Rock Equipment? They have a standard, and a heavy duty version...

why not the rockstomper version? i called mrt and they did not recomend their weld on kits for off road rigs. the person i talked to said they were not durable enough. the rock stomper version is beefy. the rings can take a beating. just put in a b series v-belt in between the rings on the oposite side of the bolts as the tire bead to prevent the "coning" and you are set. i just had a buddy make a set of 1/4 thick weld on locks like rockstomper sells and they will go on this weekend. gunracer1 from this board has a set he made too and the fan belt really works to prevent coning. :D

I did the MRT locks.
I've not had any complaints about durability. Lots of scratches, gouges, and dents, but to leaks. However, I'm not aware of them making anything other than the 18 bolt (5/16"). On my lighter vehichle they work great, but on a larger truck they would be questionable....
If you do go whith them, a hint on the install - Don't use the inner or outer DIA for alignment of the ring to the wheel. Make up some spacers or a jig to use the bolt circle, that's what the outer ring is referenced off of and that is what locates the tire... ;)
