Buddy has a 95 4 cyl wrangler and it doesn't like to stay in first gear when starting off. Sonds like shift forks to me. Anyone else had this problem? Does the tranny have a top plate for easy access or does the whole thing have to come out. I haven't seen it so I don't know. Any help appreciated  :usa:

You got to open the whole thing up. There is no top plate.

Does he have a Body Lift...if so then it maybe hes just hitting the surrounding sheet metal...make very sure he's not hitting before tearing into it???

If "your friends Jeep" doesn't have a body lift, which is typical, how about some more info? Have a lift? T-case spacers? motor mount lift? anything?

I got spare tranny for $200 if your friend needs it. Check the for sale board.
