What tools do I need to take the Caliper of a front 60? Just the basic sockets?

I don't mean it bad, but if the caliper has you stumped, you should probably go get yourself a manual and read it.

Basic handtools should handle it. I don't remember there being any special tools needed.

Here is the deal... I'm in another state and don't have my normal tools with me.
I have to drive 2 hours in the middle of nowhere, I have to buy the tools to take this apart. Last thing I want to do is be short something and drive 1+ hour to find a store to sell the tools I need.

SO.. what is the size on the caliper bolt? 5/8?
-I've never helped or owned, and thus taken apart, a Ford Dana 60.

That's a bummer. I'd just get a cheap 3/8-7/8 socket set, an allen wrench for the lockouts, a hammer and a couple screwdrivers for the spindle nuts, and a crescent wrench. That should get it apart. Good luck.

I think it must have been either 7/8 or 11/16th, cant remember

It should be a 9/16" on the lock bolt. on mine one is a 1/4" allen so it can vary. Then use a hammer (and maybe a chisel) to drive out the retaining wedge.

So is the wedge like the F150?

They should just pull out, they might be stuck on the splines from old grease and grime buildup. Soak it with wd-40 and use two flat screwdrivers to pry it out from either side.
