the pasenger side hub on my truck just blew out. i must have been riding on it while it was bad for a while because both bearings and the dog gear and everything else were basicly disintigrated. I'm only sixteen and this trucks my daily driver so i'm looking for a cheap way out. i figured i could go to the bonyards and find a hub assembly adn just buy new bearings adn that adn put on the truck. from what i know the truck has a dana 44, but i found some stuff on the internet that says different.it's a 81 chevy 1/2 ton,6 lug. I was wondering if any one could tell me what trucks and the years of i could get the huib stuff off of if theres anything i should know, tell thanks for any help

They made some that were round, and they were 10 bolts. they are not real common.

by the way, if you smoked the hub & spindle, just tear it down unbolt the spindle and replace the busted bits. the shaft may have gotten ground up. but you won't know till you pull the spindle housing.
Ps, you will need the hub nut tool.

adn i pulled the tires off to do the brakes and the wheel had about 4 inches
